DID YOU KNOW:

  • DEAN HENDERSON (principal) adopted the MVHS colors of columbia blue and red because he got a good deal from a jacket salesman on some leftover lettermans jackets in that color.
  • JEANIE NADOLSKI (Class of 1959) authored our school song.
  • MELVIN REISNER (Class of 1958) suggested the EAGLE mascot.
  • DAVE BURNHAM operated the first radio station in Marsh Valley - KDAVE 1680 - broadcasting within five miles of ARIMO and to any parking spot on the big canal, .
  • The class of 1956 was the first class to graduate from consolidated Marsh Valley High School at Arimo.
  • The class of 1959 was the first class to complete 4 years in the consolidated Marsh Valley High School.
  • The new (Harding) MVHS football team was district champions in the fall of 1956 AND 1957.
  • Downey High School included Downey, Swan Lake and Virginia.
  • Arimo High School included Arimo, Robin, Marsh Center, Hawkins Basin and Hermitsville.
  • McCammon High School included McCammon and Readyville.
  • Lava High School included Lava to the Caribou County line.
  • Inkom High School included Inkom to the Portneuf gap.
  • North Marsh High School was a consolidation of Arimo, McCammon and Lava High Schools.
  • In 1955 North Marsh and Downey had a combined year book listing a set of class officers for each school.
  • The new consolidated MVHS moved into their new building mid year 1957-1958.
  • MVHS is a consolidation (fall 1955) of North Marsh (Arimo, McCammon, Lava), South Marsh (Downey) and Inkom High schools.
  • This consolidation into one new high school caused many very bitter battles in our valley.
